This color video is synthesized from two monochrome cameras that were operating at different wavelengths. By measuring the ratio of the signals in local areas from each camera it is possible to generate a look-up table from which we infer the color of each object in the scene. Even if we get the color wrong, color coding helps to separate objects in the scene of similar reflectance.
