Scintillation appears in photomultiplier systems under low light conditions. This artifact can be compensated in real time with our scintillation suppression algorithms. There is no frame delay in processing.
In the movie above, the frame on the right shows the original image from an intensified camera at low light levels. It contains spurious white flashing spots caused by scintillation. In the movie on the left, the scintillation has been removed.
